Devrent Valley

Pasabag (Monks’ Valley)

In Monk Vallay you can walk around enjoying the scenic mushroom-like rocks and take photos for the sake of memories. This place is also believed to be one of the sacred areas thanks to its tranquil environment.

 

Goreme Open Air Museum

It is one of Turkey’s UNESCO World Heritage sites. It has a collection of some of the earliest cave churches and chapels for you to freely explore. This area was one of the first places to embrace Christianity.

 

Uchisar Castle

It’s one of the most prominent landmarks in Cappadocia and also the highest point in entire Cappadocia with a magnificent panoramic landscape. It has tunnels that were for years used by the locals for refuge when the armies took over the surrounding plains.

The valley earned its name from the many pigeon houses carved by men into the soft volcanic tuff. The valley has some of the greatest pigeon nests collections in the world.

 

Derinkuyu Underground City

Ihlara Valley

Cappadocia from Istanbul by bus

The road distance between Istanbul and Cappadocia is 736 km, and by a bus or a car, it takes 10,5 hours at the usual standards.

 

If you take a night before bus though, it will take you between 10 to 12  hours . It’s sure a long ride but a cheaper option.
